thoughts about a normalled audio path

Postby lobit » Mon May 26, 2008 6:47 pm

I was thinking about how it would be cool if the audio path was normalled internally and could override the connections by patching into the front panel. could this be done with the jacks that are already in the modules or would you have to use special jacks.

the bigger issue would be how do you connect the wires between modules cleanly while still being able to disconnect them from eachother. i was thinking maybe another set of din connections would carry multiple signals and still look factory.

an interesting thought !

the jacks in the modules are of the breaking type so I guess it would
be possible

a way to bring the inputs and outputs from one module to another would be to change the din connectors of the modules/191j to a type with more pins and route those signals up/down thru the 191j that way
(there are some unused din connector pins in some of the modules, but not
many enough to carry both in and output signals x2)
