M-140 env. retrig/loop mod

Postby synth_ollie » Mon Apr 28, 2008 11:09 am

wouldnt this be an interesting mod, the env. would retrig itsef so it could be used as an lfo, but with adjustable waveform....?

Do you suppose this could be done by outputting an LFO pulse into the switch?

well not really, the lfo wont be involved

you will just have to add a little cirquit to the adrs that fires a pulse when the adsr cycle comes to an end, and that pulse will be fed to the env´s trig input and it will fire the env again, and again, and again......

Adding an EOR (End of Release) pulse output would be a bit more flexible. This would give you the option of firing a second envelope at the end of the first. You could then have an ADSRADSR... for as many envelope generators as you could hook together.

I Don't know where you would put the output on the panel though. Perhaps replacing one of the positive envelope outs?

yes thats a possibility too, electronically the mod would be the same only that you use one output jack instead of connecting the eor pulse back to the env´s trig input thru the select switch, and then if you like it too loop you just patch that output to the env´s trig in, I believe thats the best
way to do it

thanks for the input :)

I think it is one of the best features of the Doepfer quad ADSR which also has pulse outputs for the end of the attack and decay phases of the envelope. Great for making complex modulation waveforms.

I Look forward to hearing how you go with this.

Superb!

How are you modifying the panel artwork?
