Cleaning the faceplate

Hi guys
Good day
Jut last month I was able to find a 5 module system in a flea market.
I am currently ordering the DIN cables from japan and have planned to do cleaning before testing.
Today I started the cleaning, took out all the slider caps and knobs and washed them thoroughly with great results.
I am stuck with the faceplate as I think it is stuck with a few grimes that was not taken out by the cursory wet cloth.
What so you guys recommend I use in cleaning the faceplate?
I also notice a bit of white formation in the panel mounted component pcb. What can also be used to clean them up as a dry used toothbrush doesn't do anything to it.
Hope people here can help. I can post images if needed
Cheers
Harvey

Flea market!!! Tell us more!
Sounds like a dream..

(I only use water when it comes to cleaning panels. And a cloth. If it is too sticky i just leave it...)
